Welcome!
Hi, I’m Ryn (They/Them). I work with children, adolescents, and adults, offering a space where you can show up as you are and explore what’s happening beneath the surface. My practice is intentionally inclusive and affirming of people from diverse backgrounds, including neurodivergent individuals and members of the Queer and Trans communities.
I’m especially drawn to working with people who are trying to better understand themselves, make sense of difficult experiences, or reconnect with parts of themselves that may have gotten lost along the way. This might look like exploring identity, navigating anxiety, working through relationship challenges, building self-compassion, or finding your way through grief and loss, including the profound loss that can come with losing a beloved pet. Sometimes therapy is about getting through a particularly difficult season; other times, it’s about creating space to ask deeper questions about who you are and what you want your life to look like.
What Therapy with Me Looks Like
I believe therapy works best when it is grounded in a strong, authentic relationship. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to therapy, and I don’t see my role as simply giving you answers or “fixing” what feels difficult. Instead, I see therapy as a collaborative process where we can slow down, get curious, and make sense of your experiences together.
My style is warm, thoughtful, curious, and relational. I’ll meet you where you are while also gently challenging you when it may help you see something from a different perspective. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can develop a deeper understanding of yourself, recognize the strengths you already carry, and build greater trust in your own ability to navigate life.
My Approach
My work is trauma-informed and grounded in the belief that we are shaped by our relationships, environments, and lived experiences. I primarily work through an Internal Family Systems (IFS) lens, which invites us to become curious about the different parts of ourselves and the roles they may have taken on to help us cope. I incorporate somatic and play-based approaches within this framework, creating opportunities to connect with our inner experiences in ways that go beyond words. This can be especially helpful for children and for individuals who naturally connect with experiential or body-based ways of exploring themselves. Rather than viewing these patterns as problems to eliminate, we can begin to understand what they are trying to protect and what you may need beneath them.
I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), self-compassion, and shame resilience approaches. Together, these perspectives help us explore not only what you’re experiencing, but also what matters most to you and how you want to move forward.
I don’t believe healing means becoming a different person or leaving difficult parts of yourself behind. Instead, therapy can offer an opportunity to better understand your experiences, develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself, and reconnect with your own values, strengths, and sense of direction.
Coming to the Office
I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions, with flexible scheduling to accommodate different needs and schedules. My office offers free off-street parking and is wheelchair accessible.
If you’re considering therapy and aren’t sure where to start, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This is a chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a sense of whether working together might be a good fit.
I’d be glad to hear from you.
